In January-April 2007 Belarus’ negative balance of trade in goods amounted to $1,162.5 mln, Statistics and Analysis Ministry informs. In January-April 2006 negative balance was $391 mln.
The volume of foreign trade in goods was $14,318.3 mln in January-April 2007, which is by 16.3% more as compared with the same period of 2006, AFN informs.
Import of goods has grown by 21.8% and amounted to $7,740.4 mln, export has grown by 10.3% and amounted to $6,577.9 mln.
Deliveries to the CIS countries have grown by 14.2% out of the overall volume and amount to $4,965.9 mln. Volume of import from Russia has grown by 11.7% and amounts to $4,465.9 mln. Volume of import from Ukraine has grown by 37.6% and amounts to $416.2 mln. Import from non-CIS countries to Belarus has grown by 38.4%, which is $2,774.5 mln. Import from Germany has grown 1.7 times and makes $655.3 mln.
Belarus’ negative balance of trade in goods with the CIS countries was minus $1,850.6 million ($2002.8 mln with Russia, $28 mln with Ukraine). The balance in trade with countries outside the CIS was $688.1 mln. The negative balance of trade in goods with Germany was $508.1 mln.
In 2006 Belarus’ negative balance of foreign trade in goods made up $2,584.7 mln. A task has been set for 2007 to make foreign trade balance positive at a level of $500 mln.
