Today in the Vitebsk district court the administrative cases of youth activists Genadz Sharakh, Zmitzer Lysienka, Alyaksandr Dzeravyanka and Andrei Danileusky were bought to trial. Yesterday the youths were guarded to the Vitebsk isolation ward .The activists had been detained at the Pervamaisky court of Vitebsk where the had come for rendering their support to the rights defender Valery Schukin.

Today Alyaksandr Lukashenka dismissed head of the Minsk regional executive council Mikalai Damashkevich. Ambassador of Russia to Belarus Aleksandr Surikov considers that Moscow and Minsk must struggle together against the threat of military confrontation in Europe. “The Belarusian- Russian relationship is extremely actual at the moment, for example, as far as the problem of antimissile systems deployment in the Eastern Europe is concerned”, Surikov said in the interview to the edition of the Council of Ministers of the “ union state”, Russian Federation and Belarus published on Thursday.

Judge of Pershamajski district court of Vitsebsk Guryan denied Svyatlana Barankouskaya a right of admission as a representative of Valery Shchukin in the court. The human rights activist, who is tried on charges relating insult of election commission members, estimated that as a violation of his rights. “I was denied legal assistance,” he said. “By doing so the judge trampled down the Constitution”.

Andrei Klimau, member of the National Committee of the United Civil Party, deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the 13th convening has been imprisoned since 3 April. It is the third term in prison of the well-known political prisoner. Andrei Klimau is a political prisoner who has served the largest term in jail.

On June 4 a political prisoner Artur Finkevich was denied an early release, Nasha Niva informs. The guy was simply asked to sign the results of a commission session held on March 14, 2007. It is said in the document that conditional early release cannot be granted to Artur Finkevich, as he was a malicious violator of discipline.

On June 6 in the evening a Protestant minister, Polish citizen Jaroslaw Lukasik was deported from Belarus. He took the train Minsk-Warsaw 8.40 p.m. More than 100 persons have come to the railway station to see him off on the train. Among those present were Protestant pastors, believers and friends of J. Lukasik. When the train departed, people sang a hymn “Mighty God” and chanted “Long live Belarus!”

Activists from Vitsebsk Henadz Sharakh, Zmitser Lyasnikovich, Alyaksandr Dzeravyanka and Andrei Danileuski have been placed to a remand prison of Vitsebsk pending trial on Thursday. The Charter’97 press-center has been informed about that by a young leader Paval Sevyarynets. Activists were detained before trial near the court of Pershamajski district of Vitsebsk. They had come there to support human rights activist Valery Shchukin. A trial over Shchukin started yesterday.

About two dozens of people, mostly young, were disbanded by policemen near the former Bernardine monastery in Minsk. At 8 p.m. young people gathered for a prayer service, and in a few minutes policemen arrived, Radio Svaboda informs. One of the policemen who presented himself as a district police officer of Tsentralny district of Minsk, and told to those present that to gather for prayer service is possible only on permission of city authorities.
