Appeal on law violation to be considered by violators
16:33, 08/06/2007

Appeal on law violation in the course of construction works conducted in the historical part of Garodnya has been directed from the public prosecutor’s office to the regional executive council for consideration. That was reported to the BelaPAN by member of the “VIT” regional association of scientific researchers of the region Natallya Slizh.

“Of course, our expectations were not very large but we didn’t suppose such an answer from the public prosecutor’s office. It looks like vicious circle”, N. Slizh said.

A concern about the legislation violations in the course of the city center reconstruction, which started in 2005 and is still underway, was expressed in the appeal. The destruction of cultural layers of the XIV-XIX centuries during reconstruction of the Sovetskaya Square, the construction works in the protected historical area without prior consent of the architectural research, changing of the Sovetskaya Square layout for turning it into the thoroughfare, the increase of traffic in the historical part of the city due to the envisaged extension of the bridge over Nyoman, mass dismantling of buildings in the historical part of Garodnya are particularly meant in the appeal .

The copies of the appeal are to be sent to the higher bodies: the state control committee, general public prosecutor’s office and administration of President.
