The chairman of the Supreme Court of Belarus Valyantsin Sukala believes that the Criminal Code of Belarus does not contain necessary norms which allow giving legal treatment of crimes connected with Internet. “When we adopted a new code, 7 “computer” crimes were included into it, but in general we’ve had no time for internet crimes, and moreover, it was not a matter of practice, but a matter of theory,” V. Once again Belarusian TV has distinguished itself. Yesterday on air of First National Channel it has been announced about detention of a press-secretary of the oppositional organization “Young Front” Barys Haretski, an activist of Hrodna branch of the Young Front, and two members of the Belarusian Popular Front party. According to Belarusian TV reports, two notebooks with “electronic manuals on terrorism” have been allegedly found in the oppositionists’ belongings. The Young Front press-secretary Barys Haretski left for Strasbourg in order to take part in the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe which takes place June 25-29. It is likely that the item has been demonstrated on Belarusian TV in order to discredit the activist in the eyes of the international community.
