Banks are at risk to lose everything

Early this year a large-scale cooperation of Belarus the Austrian Raiffeisen bank was declared. It was envisaged to attract around EUR billion to the Belarusian economy through its structures. Lukashenka even awarded chairman of the board Herbert Stepich with the order of Peoples’ Friendship. Recently the intensions of the ABN Ambro from the Netherlands to attract EUR 500 million to the country have been worded. According to the Interfax, the Naftan and Mozir oil refineries are to be granted several ABN Ambro credits of USD 75 billion each for oil deliveries financing. Another Political Provocation on Belarusian TV
11:23, 25/06/2007

Once again Belarusian TV has distinguished itself. Yesterday on air of First National Channel it has been announced about detention of a press-secretary of the oppositional organization “Young Front” Barys Haretski, an activist of Hrodna branch of the Young Front, and two members of the Belarusian Popular Front party. According to Belarusian TV reports, two notebooks with “electronic manuals on terrorism” have been allegedly found in the oppositionists’ belongings. The Young Front press-secretary Barys Haretski left for Strasbourg in order to take part in the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe which takes place June 25-29. It is likely that the item has been demonstrated on Belarusian TV in order to discredit the activist in the eyes of the international community.
