Another picket against the abolition of the benefits of socially exposed citizens took place on July 3, in Navapolatsk. Such actions have been held in this town daily since June 27.

As usual, the picket participants were collecting signatures against the abolition of social benefits of pensioners, blood-donors and those who had taken part in the elimination of the Chernobyl tragedy consequences. Moreover, the demonstrators offered to the public to sign the demand to recall the deputy of Navapolatsk, who voted for abolition of the benefits, from the “chamber of representatives”. According to one of the picket’s organizers Valery Shauchenka, several hundreds of Navapolatsk dwellers have already signed the abovementioned appeals, as Radio Svaboda reports.

A special leaflet consecrated to the harsh life conditions of a great number of Navapolatsk pensioners and a receipt with addresses and phone numbers of the state officials, where the protest against social benefits abolition can be sent to.

The month of social protest was authorized by the powers and is to last till July 27.
