Minsk municipal executive committee declined the request for holding actions of support for Aliaksandar Kazulin in the Park of Peoples’ Friendship in Minsk. Today Deputy head of the Minsk municipal committee of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party Aliaksiey Sigayeu, who has applied for the authorization for the pickets, has received the reply signed by deputy chairperson of Minsk municipal executive committee M.Tsitsiankou.

Kazulin needs medical examination

The members of the Vitsiebsk region organization of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (“Gramada”) ask the region’s Public Prosecutor Gianadz Dysko to appoint medical examination for former candidate for the Presidential post, party leader Aliaksandar Kazulin. A corresponding application was sent on July 5, by chairperson of the Party’s regional organization Anatol Gniauko.

“Gazprom” will give Belarus no discount for integration

“We cannot use economically unreasonable schemes even for the sake of such an essential process as integration,” - Chairperson of the committee of directors of “Gazprom” and Russia’s Vice Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said in reply to a question posed by a correspondent of the newspaper “Vedomosti” on whether the integration with Belarus can impact the gas pricing.

Young activists of democratic forces are set to insist on putting Judge Tatsyana Pauliuchuk (the court of Tsentral district of Minsk) on the blacklist of officials not allowed to enter Europe. The BelaPAN was informed about that by one of initiators of the campaign Barys Haretski.

Minsk municipal executive committee passed a resolution for advertisers, publicists and publicity distributors, based on the instruction of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus from April 19, 2007, on the advertisement of the events of the National program for demographic security of Belarus for 2007-2010. The resolution adopted on behalf of the Ministry of Trade contains recommendations on the necessity of a wider usage of the image of a full happy family with more than 3 children in the advertisement of goods, works and services (as far as it concerns forming of the content and script).

Monument to John Paul II to be put up near Minsk

The Ministry of Justice declined the request to register the republican public association of veterans and disabled of the Chernobyl tragedy consequences elimination “Likvidator” (“Liquidator”). As Aliaksandar Valchanin who has launched the idea of creation of the association told BelaPAN, he found out about the refusal from a letter of head of public associations department of the Ministry of Justice Aleg Slizheuski, on July 3. “And that was him who assured European politicians in Geneva that in Belarus there were no problems with registration for public associations,” - A.Valchanin emphasized.

Criminal action against activist of the Young Front sent for trial

A criminal action against the leader of Salihorsk-based branch of the Young Front Ivan Shyla is sent for trial by the prosecutor’s office. In this connection on Friday Ivan was summoned to an investigator to get acquainted with the materials of the case. It is expected that Shyla’ status of a suspect would be changed to a status of an accused.

Russia is set to build nuclear power station in Belarus

In the near future Belarus is to put out tender for construction of a nuclear power station. It has been stated by Prime Minister Syarhei Sidorski in Moscow. Appropriate decisions have been already taken, and now volume and sources of financing, location of the important object are discussed. The Russian side has many times stated its readiness to take part in construction of the first Belarusian nuclear station. There many reasons to think that the tender commission would make a corresponding choice.
