The members of the Vitsiebsk region organization of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (“Gramada”) ask the region’s Public Prosecutor Gianadz Dysko to appoint medical examination for former candidate for the Presidential post, party leader Aliaksandar Kazulin. A corresponding application was sent on July 5, by chairperson of the Party’s regional organization Anatol Gniauko.
The document contains the information from the mass media that Kazulin was beaten up by an officer of the interior service in the jail settlement “Vits’ba-3” where the politician is passing his sentence, as BelaPAN reports.
It is said in the statement that “common citizens and party members are concerned with the life, physical state and health of Aliaksandar Kazulin, and our concerns are reasonable.” Moreover, it is emphasized that A.Kazulin is not allowed to meet with his family and his meeting with the lawyer was postponed.
Vitsiebsk activists of the Social Democratic Party ask the Public Prosecutor to interrogate A.Kazulin, other prisoners and the chief of the unit, to ascertain the beating or usage of violence against the politician.
