Criminal case can be initiated against Zmitsier Dashkievich :: Charter'97 :: News

As the remedial center “Viasna” found out, investigator of the regional public prosecutor’s office of Minsk Vitold Aliaksieyeu, who is in charge of the criminal case of Ivan Shyla, appointed the data on the refusal of witness Zmitsier Dashkievich to testify on the case as a separate case.

The corresponding papers have been sent to Shklou, where Zmitsier Dashkievich is passing his sentence in a correction colony. The Shklou district public prosecutor’s office it so examine the papers within 10 days and to pass a resolution on the criminal case on Zmitsier on article 402 of the Belarusian Criminal Code (deliberately false testifying of a witness or refusal to testify). According to the investigator who has interrogated Zmitsier Dashkievich on Ivan Shyla’s case in the Shklou colony, Zmitsier had refused to give testimonies on the case.

At the same time, investigator Aliaksieyeu appointed the data on Nasta Azarka as a separate case which was sent to the Minsk district prosecutor’s consideration. We shall remind that on March 5, 2006 a criminal case against was brought against Nasta Azarka on article 193.1 of the Belarusian Criminal Code (activity on behalf of a non-registered organization), but it was suspended then. It is likely that another criminal case can be initiated against Nasta on the same article.
