Not a day without a conspiracy 15:32, 10/07/2007, Uladzimir Khalip No way. No logics can help here. The seditious organization that one can be punished for being a member of is “Malady Front”. And that is Ivan Shyla who is to stand before the high court. A criminal case is no fiddlesticks. It requires much effort to prepare it, to bring it to court. But who was the one that the stronghold of justice fell upon? Yes, indeed, this “Malady Front” really does exist. Everyone has seen its members at demonstrations, in pickets, at different protest actions. Well-brought. Well-read. Not the kind of people who would even drop a paper in the street. And our powers are perfectly aware of that. And if so, why making a mess? It’s not registered, is it? Then give the registration. Any questions? But you can negotiate; try to seek consensus. And let the police do what they must do - leave them real crimes that are shaking this model-country. What a disgrace! A mighty army of various OMON and other special forces warriors who terrify just with their looks had been hunting some bandits in Gomel and couldn’t grab them for 10 years. Every local kid knew the names of those bandits, and the police were the only ones who had to solve this “puzzle”. Some hooligans of Zhlobin thought they were allowed to do everything they pleased, and even attempted to seize the pride of our industry - the local metallurgical plant. And in this situation the knight of law and order have to chase boys and girls, for them not to shout (Lord forbid!) “Long Live Belarus!” This failure hunt has been lasting eternally. Untamed offspring of our iron fellow-citizen Felix Dzierzhinskiy cannot calm down. They exposed an atrocious anti-USSR conspiracy in late 40s. And where do you think? In pedagogical colleges! The 17-year old enemies of the country demanded to study - just think of that! - in Belarusian. Certainly, those conspirators were charged and sentenced to 25 years, or to 10 years (those who knew but didn’t denounce), or to capital punishment. In 60s, during the well-known “thaw” of Khrushchev rule, the great Extraordinary Committee officers again exposed a plot in Minsk universities tied by anti-USSR students. Times were different, and the case didn’t reach the court. But every plotter was expelled - from institutes, music academy, university. And it was fair: during searches in hostels among other seditious materials, the novel “Dog’s Heart” of blatant White Guardist Mikhail Bulgakov, printed on thin cheap paper worn out after numerous readings, was discovered. And the 70s saw one even more horrible conspiracy. And where do you think? In the Academy of Sciences! Belarusian nationalists this time. That’s the way we live - one conspiracy after another. Our country has suffered a lot! How should we survive through all these threats? And in vain do people hope for some changes. And in vain does the OSCE urge the powers not to exploit imprisonment in political purposes. How can we explain to those naive Europeans that the country cannot leave its way which was once picked and will never change? We’re too passive for that. And all those eternal threats, the main of which is 250 thousand soldiers of special forces. They cannot sit still in offices. They should work. They should present irrefutable evidences to their management daily to prove he need for them. So, here they present these evidences; this time Ivan Shyla acts as one. “Malady Front” is just the beginning! They will soon take pensioners in hands. There are so many discontented among them. Sooner or later, another conspiracy can emerge. …A column of mostly “Malady Front” members was marching along a road. They were marching over the places where officers of the National Interior Committee shot down thousands of political prisoners. A storm started, it was thundering. But nobody moved away from the road. Then they were standing in front of a cross of sufferings. A priest was reading a prayer. A girl of 15 was keeping a white-red-white flag. The rain grew stronger. And someone passed an umbrella for her. She refused to take it - she was attempting to unfold the flag so that it could be seen from the road. Who are you fighting against, Panowie? hhhhh
