Embassy of Poland giving no comment on KGB :: Charter'97 :: News

Embassy of the Republic of Poland is not going to comment on the ONT Belarusian TV channel’s message on completion of investigation of the criminal case of the citizens charged of espionage in favor of the Polish intelligence service. That was declared to the BelaPAN by representative of the Polish diplomatic mission in Minsk Monica Sadowska.

It is to be mentioned that as the ONT informed on 15 July the criminal case against former major of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus Uladzimir Ruskin, former major and head of the intelligence service of one of the antiaircraft gun –antimissile brigades Viktar Bogdan, military men of the radio engineering brigade of the antimissile defense of Belarus Karnyaliuk and Pyatkevich was submitted to the court. Another figure of the case major of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Russia Yuren has to come with the confession of guilt to the Federal Security Service of Russia. The actions of all the convicts were qualified as agents’ intelligence in favor of the foreign intelligence services.

The video matter of the operative and investigation actions has become the main evidence basis for the espionage activities of the agent group. The investigation department of the KGB has brought the criminal cases in compliance with Article 356 Part 1 of the Criminal Code (high treason in the form of espionage).

The Committee of State security refuses to give any comments on the affair.

As it was reported to the BelaPAN at the Supreme Court, the criminal case of the convicts in espionage has not been submitted either to the Belarusian Military Court or to the Military Board of the Supreme Court of Belarus.
