NEWS  Lukashenka removed KGB chairman 17:14, 17/07/2007 By his decrees Alyaksandr Lukashenka removed the Chairman of the KGB (State Security Committee) of the Republic of Belarus lieutenant general Stsyapan Sukharenka and the First deputy of the KGB Chairman major general Vasil Dzemyantesei. “It is connected with transfer to another job,” the press-service of the president informs. Major general Yury Zhadobin has been appointed the Chairman of the KGB. Before that he occupied the position of the head of the Security service of the Belarusian president. Zhadobin’s place is occupied by lieutenant colonel Andrei Vtsurin, who previously occupied a position of the head of personal protection service of the president.
