Criminal Action against “Polish Spies” got lost 16:23, 18/07/2007
The location of a criminal case brought up against Polish intelligence agents, investigated by the State Security Committee of Belarus is still unknown. As the Supreme Court informed, the main judicial authority of the country haven’t received materials of the case. At the same time, the Supreme Court is to define jurisdiction of the case, is it to be considered by the Military College of the Supreme Court or to the Belarusian Military Court.
At the same time, the KGB continues to allege that the materials have been sent to the court, BelaPAN informs.
As we have informed, July 15 the ONT TV channel reported that a criminal case against a former major of the Military Forces of Belarus Uladzimir Ruskin, a former major, a former head of intelligence branch of command staff of one of the air-defense brigades of Viktar Bohdan, military men of an air defense artillery brigade of Belarus Karnyaliuk and Petkevich. Another person involved in the case is a Russian army major Yurenya, had to give himself up to the FSB (Federal Security Service) of Russia. Actions of the accused were classified as espionage in favour of foreign special services.
Video materials of operational search and investigatory actions have become a basis of the evidence of a criminal group’s spying activities. A criminal action was brought up against all the accused under Article 356 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Belarus (“treason against the State in the form of espionage”).
