Pickets against benefits annulment banned in Zhlobin 15:00, 24/07/2007
In the Belarusian six towns the activists of the radio-electronic industry workers’ trade union applied for permission of holding social pickets against the benefits annulment. As “Trade Union Movement in Belarus” site informs, 23 July it became known that the Zhlobin executive council had not given the permission for holding social pickets against the benefits annulment.
Zhlobin’s officials replied that the problems forwarded by the trade union were not solvable at the town’s level. One of the trade union’s leaders Alyaksandr Bukhvostau reported that activists of the radio-electronic industry workers’ trade union in Zhlobin had already lodged the claim on violation of the law on mass actions by the Zhlobin executive council’s officials to the court.
”They could have transferred the pickets date or place but they had not to deprive the people of their right to express their attitude towards the legislature acts regarding social state of the citizens being adopted in the country. We suppose that in other regions the officials will also find groundless reasons for the actions refusal”, Bukhvostau reported.
The radio-electronic industry workers’ trade union is planning to hold the pickets against the benefits annulment in Minsk 1 August, in Barisau 4 August, in Smalevichi 6 August, in Gomel 9 August. The action in Zhlobin was to be held 27 July. Soon the applications are to be submitted in Brest, Slutsk, Rechitsa and Grodna.
