As the Charter ’97 press-center has reported, today the Partizansky district city court of Minsk made a judgment on rescheduling the court trial of Shidlousky and Baranousky’s case to 8 August. After giving a non-departure signed statement the activists were released until the court hearing.

The Government of Belarus foresees to borrow the credit resources amounting to USD 600 million for implementation of the project on re-equipment of three cement plants. The United States strongly condemns the politically-motivated imprisonment of political activists Pavel Severinets and Aleksey Shein, whom the authorities on July 24 convicted of distributing leaflets advertising the United Democratic Forces’ July 27 Independence Day meetings.
