Today Belatransgaz made its first payment for the gas delivered in the first half of 2007.The Russian monopolist is waiting for the complete payment to be made within a week.

Due to this the decision is taken for postponing the restriction of gas deliveries to consumers of the Republic of Belarus. Gasprom expects the complete debt repayment within a week and timely 100% current payments for gas deliveries, the information department of Gazprom reports.
Today Belarus has transferred USD 190million for repayment of the debt accumulated in the first half year. The debt amounts to USD 456.16 billion.
It is known that as stipulated by the contract the Belarusian party was paying only for 55% of the delivered gas on condition of paying the balance until 23 July and transfer to 100% payment of deliveries since 1 July.
