Citizens to appear under double surveillance 16:36, 09/08/2007
The institute of citizens’ registration according to the place of their living is to appear in Belarus this year, the interior minister Lieutenant General Uladzimir Naumau announced at the on-line conference on the site of the first national TV channel in Minsk on Thursday.
“The institute of registration is to appear in our country this year. Still we can’t say that it will sufficiently differ from the residence permit “, the minister said.
According to him “a law-obedient citizen will meet the requirements both of registration and of residence permit. And for those citizens who have the residence permit in one place and live in another, who have to look for a way out of their hard living conditions can exist in both cases”.
“The introduction of the institute of citizens’ registration will be followed by the set up, probably within the interior minister, of a new division-the state registrar which will make account of the population”, U.Naumau reported. I believe that in the coming years the procedure will be improved in consideration of the interests of both of citizens and of the state”, he added.
