Foreign ministry of Poland declared protest to Belarusian authorities

The Foreign Ministry of Poland declared protest to the extraordinary and plenipoteniary ambassador of Belarus to Poland Pavel Latushka on occasion of the banned entry to Belarus for the Polish parliamentarians.

“Late 15 August ambassador Pavel Latushka was called to the Polish foreign ministry where he was declared the protest”, the head of the department of the foreign ministry press-service Maria Vanshina reported.

It is to be mentioned that at the checkpoint Bruzgi Belarusian boarder guards didn’t let the vice –speaker of the Polish Senate Krzysztof Putra ,leader of the Polish party ”Civil Plarform” Donald Tusk and leader of the parliamentary group ”Solidarity with Belarus” Robert Tishkevich to enter Belarus . The Polish policymakers were going to Hrodna for participation in the events dedicated to the Day of Polish Army.

As the official representative of the checkpoint Bruzgi explained”the actions fully comply with the international standards, in particular, with Article 90 Point 2 of the Vienna convention on the international relations which runs that the state is entitled to deny it’s entering to a certain category of people “.

The official comment of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus stated that “the Belarusian side warned the Polish side in advance that several of its representatives who intended to travel to Hrodna wouln’t be allowed to enter the country.
