Youth activist Pavel Sevyarinetsis at this moment is on his way to the Maskousky district court of Brest. As the Charter’97 press-center has been informed by the policymaker’s mother Tatstsyana Sevyarinets the activist has been charged with participation in the unsanctioned meeting. The presentation of Pavel Sevyarinets’ book “Pages of Destiny” held on Sunday at the headquarters of the BNF Party is meant in this connection.

The trial of the public campaign activist Mikita Sasim was held in Minsk .The judge of the Central district court of Minsk Tatstsyana Pauliuchuk sentenced a guy to 10 nights of arrest in compliance with Article 17.1 of the Code of the Republic Belarus on administrative violations.

19 August the social forum was held in Minsk. Around 40 policymakers, liquidators of the Chernobyl disaster, entrepreneurs, and representatives of the independent trade unions and human rights organizations as well as several deputies of the local councils participated in it. At the forum the public representatives discussed the social rights protection issues. Former member of the “house of representatives” Uladzimir Parfyanovich as well as co-chairman of the Russian –Belarusian foundation”Social and Economic Partnership” Leanid Sinitsin made several scandalous declarations at the forum.

The rumors about the meeting of Lukashenka and Putin to be held 22 August appeared at the background of the sharp arguments concerning the problem of the Belarusian non-payment for the Russian gas deliveries late in August.
