Pavel Sevyarinets on his way to court

Youth activist Pavel Sevyarinetsis at this moment is on his way to the Maskousky district court of Brest. As the Charter’97 press-center has been informed by the policymaker’s mother Tatstsyana Sevyarinets the activist has been charged with participation in the unsanctioned meeting. The presentation of Pavel Sevyarinets’ book “Pages of Destiny” held on Sunday at the headquarters of the BNF Party is meant in this connection.

According to Tatstsyana Sevyarinets, today when interrogated by the militiamen her son was forwarded several visit cards informing as if the activist were at the head of the unregistered party the Belarusian Christian Democrats as well as several funny images of Lukashenka. Those things were reportedly found in the course of the search of the BNF Party. The militiamen informed that they intended to submit all those papers to the prosecutors’ office.

It is to be mentioned that yesterday at the presentation of his book “Pages of Destiny” the youth activist Pavel Sevyarinet, former political prisoner, was arrested. 28 other people who participated in the presentation were also detained with Sevyarinets. The headquarters of the BNF Party were the presentation was held was intruded by militiamen who declared that there had been a phone call to the militia that the criminals had gathered in the office.”The people threatened with arms were forced on the floor”, Tatstsyana Sevyarinets reported.

As Tatstsyana Sevyarinets reported, several detained activist were subpoenaed to the court trial to be held 22 August.
