At the social forum Sinitsin advised Belarusians to sell themselves to Russia 13:19, 20/08/2007
19 August the social forum was held in Minsk. Around 40 policymakers, liquidators of the Chernobyl disaster, entrepreneurs, and representatives of the independent trade unions and human rights organizations as well as several deputies of the local councils participated in it. At the forum the public representatives discussed the social rights protection issues. Former member of the “house of representatives” Uladzimir Parfyanovich as well as co-chairman of the Russian –Belarusian foundation”Social and Economic Partnership” Leanid Sinitsin made several scandalous declarations at the forum.
In his speech on coordination of different social groups’ efforts for social rights protection at the forum Uladzimir Parfyanovich declared that presently nothing could be gained by the democratic forces without putting forward the political demands.”The tough political demands must be decisively formulated as now the majority of the population deprived of their social benefits is on our side”, he stressed. Uladzimir Parfyanovich considers that the campaign on recall of the deputies of the “house of representatives” who voted unanimously two times for the benefits annulment must be simultaneously conducted. The amendment of the electoral legislation is also to be insisted upon.
Co-chairman of the Russian –Belarusian foundation”Social and Economic Partnership” Leanid Sinitsin suggested the democratic forces to change their social targets for cooperation with Russia. According to him, the authorities resorted to the benefits annulment due to the cash shortage. “Ordinary protesting, meetings in such situation are senseless .Looking for financial sources is required than the social problems will be solved”, L.Sinitsin is sure. He associates the improvement of the economic situation in Belarus with maintaining cooperation with Russia down to Belarus joining the Russian Federation as its associated member.
However, as leader of the United Civil Party Anatol Lyabedzka informed the Charter’97 press-service, “initiatives of Parfyanovich and Sinitsin found no understanding, neither a single structure nor a single person backed them and they had nothing to do but to quit’.
