Four opposition youths arrested in Nyasvizh 12:39, 27/08/2007
Four young opposition activists were arrested in Nyasvizh, Minsk region, on Friday night.
Anastasiya Palazhanka, Anastasiya Azarka, Alyaksandr Dubski and Alyaksandr Zhukaw, all members of the Malady Front youth opposition group, were picked up by a police patrol vehicle at about 0:40 a.m., when they were walking on a street.
As Ms. Palazhanka told BelaPAN, they were charged with hooliganism for allegedly writing "Belarus is Sacred" on a fence.
The four spent the night in the Nyasvizh district police department. Ms. Palazhanka was released at about 2 p.m. on Sunday, as she is under 18 years of age. According her, her case will be considered by an administrative offenses commission. The other three youths will continue to be held in custody until their trials scheduled for August 27.
