In the Supreme Court of Belarus the Belarusian ecology party of the”greens” was terminated, the Interfax reported.
The Supreme Court met the claim of the justice ministry for termination of the Belarusian ecology party of the”greens”. In the claim it is underlined that the Belarusian ecology party of the ”greens” failed to bring its activities in compliance with the amendments and additions to the law on political parties which became valid in July 2005.In particular, to the best of the ministry’s knowledge the party hasn’t amended its foundation documents. It does not have organizational structures in the majority of the regional centers and in Minsk. Furthermore, its membership is 582 people that is less than the required by the law one thousand.
The appeal of the chairman of the Belarusian ecology party of the”greens” MIlkalai Kartish to the Supreme Court hearing was disclosed. In the declaration he didn’t protest the justice ministry claim and asked to consider it in the absence of the party representatives.
It is to be mentioned that in March this year the minutes of the party congress which considered the issue on its liquidation was sent to the justice ministry. However the documents proving the legitimacy of the congress were not submitted to the ministry.
On the basis of the abovementioned the ministry of justice made a decision to liquidate the party through the court judgment.
