Belarusian official going to European Union :: Charter'97 :: News

Deputy foreign minister of Belarus Valeri Varantsou is to represent Belarus at the international conference ”Joint Actions- Strengthening of the European Policy of Neighborhood”, which is due 3 September in Brussels, the Interfax was informed at the press-service of the foreign ministry of Belarus.

In the foreign ministry they pointed out that top officials of foreign ministries of the member states of the US and the countries involved in the European Policy of Neighborhood (Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Egypt Georgia, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Moldova, Morocco, Palestinian Autonomy, Syria, Tunisia, and Ukraine) had been invited for this event

The conference is targeted at exploring the approaches of the countries involved in the European Policy of Neighborhood to further development of the relationship within its framework. The main subject of attention at the conference is to be the issues of strengthening of good neighborhood policy including possibilities of trade liberalization, human traveling, issues concerning the climate changes and energetic safety, the press-service of the foreign ministry of Belarus added.

It is to be mentioned, that previously the European Union formulated 12 conditions for cooperation with the official Minsk. The democratic reforms and release of the political prisoners were stressed as the bases for conducting talks.
