Iranian oil not to solve Belarusian problem 16:45, 05/09/2007
Belarus signed the agreement on oil mining in the southern part of Iran. It is presumed that in two years 40 thousand barrels of oil are to be mined annually under the two-phased project of USD 450 billion value. The information was commented on by Doctor of Economy Baris Zhaliba to the Charter’97 press service.
According to the expert, the project is similar to that on the oil mining in Venezuela. The capital investments are also similar- the investments required in Venezuela amount to USD 600 million
“The mined oil in both cases is not to be delivered to Belarus. The mined crude oil is to be locally sold. That is why the implementation of those projects will not solve the problem of diversification of energy resources deliveries to Belarus .We shall further remain face-to-face with the Russian oil deliverer whose raw materials will cost us twice less”, the economist supposes.
