Selling enterprises out

State share of the Minsk Watch Works”Luch” may be sold to the foreign investor. As deputy minister of economics of Belarus Aleg Melnikau has reported today to the journalists, the performance of the works for the previous years is being analyzed at present. The officially arranged group determines the guidelines of its further development as a modern enterprise.

Deputy economics minister remarked that among the possible ways of modernization of the enterprise its might- be selling to the foreign investor has been considered. Meanwhile Aleg Melnikau stressed:”Firstly, the investor is to be found and the conditions are to be formulated, for example, retaining of the job places. That variant has been considered but it doesn’t mean the compulsory selling of the company”.


Dwelling on the methods of improvement of constantly unprofitable enterprises in Belarus. Ale Melina said that these enterprises are analyzed in detail in the context of ministries and administrative bodies they are supervised by. He also stressed that such method as bankruptcy is considered to be the last one among the reforming methods mentioned in the regulatory documents. Firstly it is necessary to try other methods of providing their profitable performance. In every ministry a special group has been set up for taking measures for the enterprises rehabilitation before the court trial.
