Draft conception of energy security of Belarus up to 2020 corrected for the Russian energy resources price rise was worked out in Belarus. As the Interfax was reported at the press office of the head of the state Alyaksandr Lukashenka learned the major provisions of the document from his associate Syargei Tkachou and chairman of the presidium of the National Academy of Sciences Mikhail Myasnikovich.

According to the press office, the draft conception “is aimed at providing the energy security of the country and, thus, at economic, political an industrial security in general”.

The draft takes into account the current situation at the energy carriers market grounded by the price rise for energy resources delivered from Russia, it was specified at the press office.

According to the press office, the long term balance for the fuel and energy resources was developed up to 2020 making the basis for outlining future socio- economic and innovational development of the republic as well as for compiling various state programs. The draft conception assumes 12 so-called reference figures –the indicators determining the energy security of the country. The specific indicator of the energy content of different branches and enterprises output is introduced. The employment of low energy consuming facilities will be accentuated. For example, the subject of massive introduction of the light detecting facilities is considered at the National Academy of Sciences. It was stressed there that
“the transparent vertical” in the sphere of energy consumption “has been arranged” in the republic: at the country level the balance and energy content of the GDP is determined , at the ministry level the consumption of fuel and energy resources per the output unit is determined in cash.

According to the draft conception the work on diversification of fuel and energy resources consumption is to be continued.” For instance, the construction of 3 coal- consuming power stations of 800-850 Mwatt capacity in the Brest, Homel and Hrodna regions is envisaged. Furthermore, according to the experts the actual economic benefits of transferring of the Belarusian cement manufactures to coal consumption will become feasible in the near future “, the president’s press office remarked.

According to the experts’ assessment, it was specified there, under conditions of diesel and gas price hike the electric power production on the bases of coal is to become more profitable in the long run. “Coal may be imported not only from Russia but from other countries. Interesting offers are coming from the Ukraine, Poland and other countries”, the president’s press office reported.
