Artist Ales Pushkin arrested for 7 nights

The administrative trial of Artist Ales Pushkin and activist Alyaksei Yanusheusky came to an end. According to the human rights activist Vasil Leuchankau, the detained were guarded to the court building through the back entrance without being informed on the start of the trial.

Human rights activist submitted the appeal for admitting the”closed” trial of an administrative case unlawful to the Orsha district court. They managed to appear in the court only after the break.

Judge Tatstsyana Ribakova convicted the detained with minor disorderly conduct and sentenced them to 7 nights of arrest, the human rights activist of the Viasna center reported.

It is to be mentioned that Ales Pushkin and Alyaksei Yanusheusky administrative case is among the most unprepared and unprofessional ones. That is proved by the fact that the trial was postponed several times and the militiamen were made rewrite the reports changing the offence essence. Alyaksei Yanusheusky and Ales Pushkin were admitted guilty of minor disorderly conduct for removing the state flag from the Orsha militia department and throwing it away. They were detained last weekend when the y attempted to commemorate the Day of Military Glory of Belarus.

Yesterday the trial was not held because there were no Belarusian translators demanded by the defendants in Orsha at the moment.
