Prosecutor General’s office gave an “informal warning” to Anatol Lyabedzka.18 September head of the United Civil Party was invited for explaining his comments on suspension of activities of the Party of Communists Belarusian published in the internet.

Anatol Lyabedzka declared in public that he considers the Supreme Court judgment on the case as politically motivated. Deputy Head of department of the Prosecutor General’s office Pavel Radzionau warned Anatol Lyabedzka that he must observe the law and respect the court.

“In my written statement I declared once again that there had been no independent judicial system in Belarus since November 1996 when the constitutional coup was made in the country, the UCP leader reported. That is my civil and personal standpoint and I insist on it. I didn’t offend the judges anyway .As the leader of the political party I promise to do my best for introduction of the independent judicial system in Belarus”.
