On September 20 President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko went on an unscheduled walk around a former military camp in Uruchye.
After a visit to the Minsk water sports compound the President suddenly decided to walk to the former military camp where he had lived during his military service. The President talked with the local dwellers who complained that the vast majority of the apartment blocks in the district required reparation as some of them had been built as early as in 1939. People said they were ready to invest their own funds in the reconstruction on the condition that the buildings would not be pulled down afterwards.
Alexander Lukashenko demanded that Minsk Mayor Mikhail Pavlov gave orders to take an inventory of the residential fund of the former military camp and see what can be done to help the residents. He noted that mansards could be built on some of the buildings.
The President also walked to the house where he used to live during his military service and the barracks of the 120th guard mechanized brigade.
Lukashenka invites Luxembourg’s Polar Stars Group S.A. to invest in extraction and processing of brown coal, oil shale in Belarus.
