Anatol Liabedzka: Lukashenka May Expand the Space of Freedom

Commenting on the rally's results held on October 10 in Minsk, Chairman of the UCP, stated that the dictator could be forced into concessions.

"It's the largest rally. During this campaign even Lukashenka failed to gather so much people," he said.

Liabedzka believes that after the elections "expanded freedom space and eased screws" are possible, BelaPAN reports. It is possibly related with Lukashenka's acute need in money, the politician noted. In his words, the respective position of European countries and activity of the democratic community of Belarus can make Lukashenka expand the space of freedom.

It should be reminded that yesterday Minsk hosted mass rally against fraud presidential elections. Opposition leaders urged to Belarusians to boycott the election farce.
