UCP: EU Sanctions Should Stay

The authority continues persecution and repressions of those, who disagree with Lukashenka.

It is said in the statement of Political Council of the United Civil Party (BCD).

"On September 30 leaders of Belarusian opposition Mikalai Statkevich, Uladzimir Nyaklyayew (2 cases), Anatol Liabedzka (2 cases) and Mikalai Kazlou, Deputy Chairman of Minsk UCP, were tried. All six cases are sencured. The court under manual control of the executive power interpreted Article 45 of the Electoral Code and Article of the Constitution. In fact, the decision of judges divides people into castes with different rights and possibilities. Those with different position are persecuted and repressed. They are denied to criticize candidate's programs and his sparing partners, they are prohibited to communicate with Belarusian voters", the statement says.

In this regard, the Political Council of the UCP states that the decision of judges of the Tsentralny District Court of Minsk against Statkevich, Nyaklyayew, Liabedzka, Kazlou is of contract, political, and unfair nature. It is done to put psychological pressure on those, who intends to participate in anti-military picket on October 4, 2015.

The Political Council calls the European Union not to hurry with a list liquidation of Belarusian bureaucrats and judges, who are subject to temporary financial and visa restrictions. Judges Khoma M.I., Shabunia V.V., Esman V.A., who issued politically motivated decisions on September 30, 2015 are on the "sanction list". It means that the reasons for the decisions issued are still urgent.
