In Minsk “Russian World’s” Ideologist Met With “Suitcase, Railway Station, Russia” Chanting

Belarusians patriots came to the meeting with one of Anti-maidan movement leaders Nikolai Starikov.

The event was held in the House of Moscow in Minsk. In the beginning of the meeting public activists who came there after a call of the Young Front, stood up and started to chant: “A suitcase, railway station, Russia.”

Right after that people in mufti ran up to them, pinned their arms to their sides, and took them away out of the auditorium. As an opposition activist Franak Viachorka wrote in social networks, a Young Front member Mikalai Dzemidzenka was beaten then.

During the meeting with Nikolai Starikov anti-Ukrainian and anti-Belarusian books were distributed, an activist and journalist Ivan Shyla wrote on Facebook.

We remind that according to the preliminary information, the ideologist of the “Russian world” was to speak in Minsk in the conference hall of the Hotel Belarus on November 17, and in the bookstore Svetach Book centre on November 15.

As soon as the information about that was received, Belarusian network users started to write complaints to the administration of Belkniga, to thwart these meetings. They urged to cancel the meeting with Nikolai Starikov, as he supports separatists in Ukraine, and is known by his anti-Belarusian statements.

On the next day Belkniga’s website posted information that the meeting with Starikov was cancelled “for technical reasons.” The meeting in the Belarus Hotel was cancelled by the administration as well.
