Minsk Regional Executive Committee Authorized Rally On Slutsk Uprising Anniversary

Minsk regional executive committee has authorized the Conservative Christian Party – the Belarusian Popular Front to hold street rallies in Kopyl, Salihorsk districts and in Slutsk on November 29.

It will be dedicated to the Slutsk uprising of 1920. The deputy chairman of the party Yuri Belenki so that at a press conference in Minsk on November 25, BelaPAN informs.

According to him, for almost twenty years the Belarusian Popular Front has been holding events devoted to the anniversary of the armed struggle for the independence of Belarus in Slutsk district. “We leave Minsk and visit the places connected to the uprising,” – the politician said.

The event will take place from 10.00 to 16.30. The participants will visit the villages of Hrozau, Semezhava (both in Kopyl district), Krasnaya Slabada (former Vyzna in Salihorsk district). The event will end in Slutsk by a brief march and a rally in front of the local history museum building.

According to the order of the Minsk city executive committee, representatives of the Belarusian Popular Front party “are to ensure the protection of public order, health care, fire safety, proper sanitary condition of the venues in conformity with the law.” At the same time Belenky noted that the party did not have to pay for various public services.

We note that the BPF party will also hold a public rally dedicated to the anniversary of Slutsk armed uprising. It will start at 14.30 on November 28, the assembly point for participants is in front of the Slutsk Local History Museum. From there the column of demonstrators will walk on the sidewalks to the city recreation park in Vilenskaya Street, where a solemn meeting commemorating the members of the Slutsk uprising in 1920 is scheduled.
