How To Exist On Br2 Million Pension?

Though a pensions reform has been carried out in Belarus, running pensions calculations in a new way, have brought people to the verge of starvation.

Brest dwellers, who became pensioners in 2015, are indignant at their pensions. It is said in an interview to Radio Racyja by a human rights watchdog from Brest Marharyta Vialichkina:

“I have a pension of Br2 million, while I had 37 years of service. I am a labour veteran. I started working when I was not even 17. I am dying, as it is impossible to exist on such pension benefits.”

The words of the public activist are confirmed by a man, who has retired this year.

“I am a labour veteran as well. First I received Br1 million 920 thousand, now I get Br2 million 130 thousand. I worked as a long-distance driver.”

Brest pensioners believe that the age of retirement for law enforcers should be raised, and abolish preferential pensions for public servants. They do not work more than others, and they work poorly, judging by the results of their work, and they receive pension money from Br6 million to Br10 million.
