16 Belarusians Suspected Of Participation In Military Operations In Ukraine

The Main Directorate for Combating Organised Crime of the Interior Affairs Ministry has initiated checks in 16 cases’ materials opened against Belarusian citizens.

They are suspected of participation in military operations on the territory of Ukraine. It has been reported by the spokesperson of the Interior Affairs Ministry Kanstantsin Shalkevich, BelaPAN informs.

As said by him, at present the Interior Affairs Department together with the General Prosecutor’s Office, the Investigative Committee and the State Committee of Forensic Examination are carrying out the work on giving legal evaluation to the actions of the persons involved in the investigation.

Not a single criminal case has been launched against this category of citizens yet.

We remind that on January 14 at the consultation on the occasion of rubberstamping the decision on protection of the state border by agencies of the border service, Aliaksandr Lukashenka demanded security officials “to immediately deal" with those Belarusians, who are taking part in the conflict in Ukraine on the both sides.
