The cyclist of the campaign “Critical Mass” is tried in the capital today.

The day before the trial of Dzmitry Palienka, which has started in the Tsentralny district court of Minsk at 10 am today, the activists of the Internet movement “Poshug” painted a large number of stencil images in the center of Minsk to support the activist, who was detained on April 29, and the mass ride “Critical Mass”, the group of anarchists from “Poshug” inform.

The activist is tried under Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Belarus “violence or a threat of violence against law enforcement officers”, according to which the accused is liable to arrest, restriction of liberty for up to five years, or imprisonment for up to six years.

In addition, it has become known that he is also accused under part 2 of Article 343 of the Criminal Code of Belarus “Production and distribution of pornographic materials or items of a pornographic nature”, which implies imprisonment of two to four years.

We remind that a brutal detention of bicyclists, participants of the Critical Mass, took place on April 29 in the evening. As a result of brutal actions of riot policemen 6 persons were detained. They were harshly beaten up, taken to a police department of the Central district. Later four of them signed reports about violation of traffic rules by them and resisting arrest by policemen and traffic policemen, while criminal cases were opened against two of them on charges relating Article 364 of the Criminal Code.

On May 6, charges were brought against Dzmitry Palienka.
