Belarus Is Leader Of Alcohol Consumption Per Head Of Population

The alcohol consumption per head of the population in our country is more than 17 liters.

Blogger Matt Stiles found out with the help of the World Health Organization and the World Bank data, that Belarus is the world leader of the alcohol consumption per head of the population in a year: 17.3 liters, at that more than 8 liters fall at strong drinks, liga.net reports.

According to the WHO and the World Bank data, the top ten alcohol-intensive countries (in descending order) are as follows: Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Austria, Portugal, France, Ireland, Estonia, Hungary. At that the Czech Republic consumes chiefly beer, and Portugal – wine.

The least-drinking countries are Bangladesh, Somalia, Libya, Mauritania, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Yemen, Iran, Pakistan. Saudi Arabia.

The average Ukrainian, according to the World Bank and the WHO, drinks 8.5 liters of alcohol in a year, of which 4.2 liters fall at strong drinks.
