Individual Entrepreneur From Homel: Lukashenka Stuck In XVII Century
ZHANNA HUBKINA

There is absolutely no point in listening to the dictator making statements related to business as he appears totally obsolete.

An entrepreneur from Homel Zhanna Hubkina has commented upon Lukashenka’s statement about the liquidation of excess checks of the economic entities, to Solidarity:

— The government is some 15-18 years late with these measures. A very sad economic situation unfolded in our country: the external debt amounts to $ 40 billion, the people are impoverished, and the purchasing power fell. Look, the New Year is coming, and the Belarusians seem to have no festive mood whatsoever,” — Zhanna Hubkina has told in an express-comment.

She thinks that Lukashenka’s promise to eliminate the excess checks of the business remains just another populist statement.

— It will make more sense to read a good book instead of listening to such statements. Let them sort the things out with the “social parasites” first. They should follow the laws they adopted before firsthand.

The interlocutor continues: the reduction of the number of checks will not help to put the entrepreneur initiative at ease.

— What new business? If someone did open a new business it doesn’t mean they have any profit. For many of us today, business remains just a hobby. We go to work so that not to stay at home. I wouldn't wish opening an entrepreneurship on my worst enemy now. Closing it seems even more complicated: it’s easier to burn down all the documents and leave.

In the current situation, Zhanna Hubkina advises those who made up their minds to open a business to do it outside the country:

— It seems too late to start a business here. We have stuck at the level of Europe of the XVIII or even XVII rather than the XX century. It’s better to seek for another job or leave for Ukraine, Poland or Russia. There are also enough problems there, but the general situation appears not as sad as in Belarus.
