Russia Suspects Belarus In Large-Scale Contraband Of Ukrainian Beef

The scope of supplies, bypassing the sanctions, has made 12 thousand tons since the beginning of the year.

The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance has discovered a channel of re-export of the Ukrainian beef through Belarus to the Russian Federation.

As Head of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Sergey Dankvert has informed to Interfax, one of the Belarusian enterprises is suspected of carrying out such re-export.

"Approximate scopes of the supplies have made 12 thousand tons since the beginning of the year,” – he has said.

According to him, the supplies of products from this plant have been banned on suspicion of smuggling. The plant will be inspected.

The supplies of livestock products from Ukraine have been banned under the Russian food embargo since January 1, 2016.

We remind, on December 6 Sergey Dankvert said that the Belarusian agricultural companies "cheat and poison the Russians."

In response, Belarusian leader Lukashenka said: "Even if things go normally here, such figures as Dankvert and others, would spit upon, lie and pour mud over everything as it happened recently."
