Entrepreneurs: No Time for Empty Talk

Individual entrepreneurs (IEs) must step up against tricks of the authorities as a single body.

IEs of Belarus do not manage to reach an equitable dialog with the public bodies, Anatol Shumchanka, leader of Perspective public association, stated it on December 5 in Minsk.

According to him, there is no effective conference venue at the moment. The working group on entrepreneurship in the Ministry of Economy is a "complete circus with no practical results," BelaPAN writes.

"The collapse in confidence caused almost zero presence of its participants, last time there were only 13 members," he said.

Shumchanka notes that some members "conduct counter-productive activity, which does not comply with interests of IEs and which aims at break and scandals among entrepreneurs."

"We have no time for empty talk, the leader of Perspective said. - Someday we visited the meeting of the working group and raised the issue on work without documents, other members offered to discuss the recycling of wastes".

According to Shumchanka, not election, but appointment of members is the main mistake of the working group. If they were elected, "they would be responsible". Perspective offered to introduce quantitative control of members of the working group - when one position is preserved for a member of the public association and 2-3 positions - for delegates of the entrepreneurial movement in the regions.

At the moment, according to him, its performance equals to zero. "The current state of the group damages entrepreneurs, because the authorities manipulate and leads the main issues astray, and then they inform that the situation is resolved," the head of Perspective said.

"There are no equal rights in the group. it turned to be a seminar, he stressed. - Issues are not resolved; it is useless to rely on the group. <…> Today it is possible to say that the working group has failed to perform. It is useless. This situation should be fixed.

Shumchanka stresses that Perspective stands for preservation of the working group with its further qualitative reformation to make it "more effective ground for consideration of IEs' issues and for entrepreneurs themselves could perform as a single body there."
