Lukashenka‘s Resignation Was Demanded At Kopyl Rally

A rally dedicated to the Day of Constitution was held on Partyzanskaya Square in Kopyl.

The application for the rally was submitted by a local branch of the organizing committee for the creation of the Belarusian Christian Democracy Party. The rally gathered several dozens of local activists, as well as guests from Minsk, Salihorsk, Babruisk, Maladzechna, bchd.info site reports.

The protesters were holding portraits of abducted politicians and journalists. According to the organizers, the rally announcements had been torn down the day before by the unknown.

According to the adopted resolution, the protesters demanded that “Lukashenka either would leave, or start real reforms.” As well as the return of all the original provisions of the 1994 Constitution, the abolition of the anti-constitutional decree №222 on the certification and the decree №3 on “social parasitism,” a real separation of powers and the changes in the electoral legislation according to OSCE standards.

The resolution of the meeting was unanimously approved.

We remind that the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus was adopted on the 13th session of the 12th Supreme Soviet on March 15, 1994.
