Pensioner Barys Babok from Krupki will stand trial in Minsk for coming out to the square with a poster.

The picket, in which the man participated, took place on March 31 in Svabody Square in Minsk. About 10 people took part in it, namely elderly people who protested against “lawlessness in courts and prosecutors’ offices”, Solidarity informs.

According to human rights defender Tamara Siarhei, local police officers in Krupki put pressure on Barys Babok, threatening to deliver him to the court in handcuffs if he refused to go voluntarily.

We remind, court trials against several participants of the action took place earlier. The court fined one of the ladies for two pensions. Another participant of the picket, despite her advanced age, persuaded the court to send the case back for revision due to incorrect actions of the police.
