Sergey Lazarev: Crimea Is Part Of Ukraine

An archival interview with Russian representative at The Eurovision Song Contest - 2016 Sergey Lazarev is being spread across social networks.

In the summer of 2014 Sergey Lazarev said in his interview to a Ukrainian “1 + 1” TV journalist: “For me, the Crimea is a part of Ukraine.”

The video was posted again on Youtube just before the Eurovision finals on May 11, charter97.org reports.

The singer calls the Crimea Ukrainian in this interview and admits he does not share the “euphoria” about joining the peninsula to Russia.

“I do not share this euphoria. Maybe fans from Russia will bombard me with tomatoes afterwards, but I'm not going to participate in this. When I arrive, for example, in Yalta, I feel like I'm in Ukraine,” – Sergey Lazarev said.

Also Lazarev said in the interview that he was invited to take part in a tour around the Crimea, but he refused. “I do not even understand how I should behave there,” – he says.

“I will not take part in the events, where they scream “The Crimea Is Ours,” ”We Are Together,” “We Have Taken It Over”...,” – Lazarev said.

We remind that following the results of the jury and audience vote Sergey Lazarev took the third place, having yielded to the representatives of Ukraine Jamala and Australia Dami Im.
