Replacement Of Cash Registers In View Of Denomination To Cost Br41 Billions To Belarusians

Almost the same sum is spent by the budget on preschool education or on public welfare programs.

About 23,000 cash registers used in Belarus cannot work with coins. It means that because of the denomination they are to be replaced. It was said by the deputy head of the department of trade and services of the Trade Ministry of Belarus Andrei Miashkou during the Forum of Entrepreneurs on June 13, BelaPAN reports.

The official informed that 246,000 cash registers are registered in our country. Most of them could be reprogrammed, for them to work with prices in rubles and kapejkas. However, about 10% of cash registers could not be reprogrammed. As said by Miashkou, the last legal day of using such machines is December 31, 2016. And since January 1, 2017 its isforbidden.

Cash registers made in Belarus cost about Br1.8 million per item. As charter97.org has calculated, replacement of 23,000 machines is to cost Br41 billion to the country’s budget. As a comparison, almost the same sum is spent from the budget annually on preschool education or on public welfare programs. Denomination in one of the most crisis years is to cost Belarusian tax-payers dearly.
