Agro Farm Yards Have To Inform Of Foreign Tourists Within 3 Hours

The police want to have information about the foreign tourists, who stay in agro farm yards, within 3 hours after the check-in.

“The information has really been confirmed, but what is surprising – only in Valozhyn region. This order has not been documented yet. At the same time, there are a lot of verbal orders that are being executed,” – chief editor of Tourism and Recreation Lilia Kobzik said.

A representative of rural tourism has addressed this newspaper with the news of police attention to tourists.

Another farm yard owner has told Belsat.eu about police letters that have started to come lately. So far they are referred to informing about the guests within a day, but still there are disadvantages.

“Well, yes, they have sent a letter with the order to send them information via fax and not by e-mail. We do not have a fax, as nobody uses it. We phoned and asked whether it was possible to use the e-mail. They said, “No, then you have to come yourself.” That is, we need to go 20 kilometers to house guests. The roundtrip is 40 kilometers. They may also ask to send it by pigeon express! The people are very discontented with such a decision,” – the farm yard owner says.

According to the man, the police cannot say for sure what is demanded from farm yard owners:

“We asked them: do we have to inform of the Russians as well as? “Well, probably, yes,” – that was the employee’s competent response. He even did not know.”

Chairman of the Belarusian public organization Holiday Village Valeryja Klitsunova has recently commented on the requirement to inform promptly of foreign tourists. She believes that this innovation will become another obstacle to the rural tourism development.
