The greatest reduction of the GRP has been observed in Minsk region.

In January-June 2016 the Gross Regional Product (the GRP) decreased in all the regions of Belarus and Minsk, the National Statistics Committee reports.

The greatest reduction of the GRP was observed in Minsk region – by 7.3% to 59 trln. 562.5 billion rubles (13.5% of the GDP), BelaPAN informs.

The GRP fell by 1.5% to 28 trln. 899.1 billion rubles (6.5% of the GDP) in Mahiliou region, by 3% to 43 trln. 557 billion (9.9%) – in Homel region, by 2.5% to 34 trln. 508.4 billion (7.8%) – Hrodna region, by 1.7% to 39 trln. 704 700 000 000 (9%) – in Brest region, by 3.9% to 34 trln. 918.7 billion (7.9%) in Vitsebsk region, by 2% to 128 trln. 850.1 billion (29.2%) – in Minsk.

As previously reported, according to the first estimate, in January-June 2016 the GDP in Belarus amounted to 442 trillion rubles in current prices, or, in comparable prices, by 2.5% less than in January-June 2015.

It should be noted that the GDP’s evaluation takes place twice. The official forecast of the Belarusian authorities for 2016, approved in December 2015, envisaged the GDP growth at 0.3%. The forecast has been made taking into consideration that the average annual price of oil, on which the economic activity in Russia and Belarus is dependent, is $ 50 per barrel. However, in January 2016 the world market price of oil dropped down and ranged from 30 to 35 dollars per barrel.
