A visa-free regime may be introduced in both countries in mid-2016.

The European Commission is expected to present a report with a positive assessment of the reforms in Ukraine and Georgia, and thereby green-light the visa-free travel for Ukrainian and Georgian citizens, Deutsche Welle reported citing diplomatic sources in Brussels.

A visa-free regime may be introduced in both countries in mid-2016, according to the sources, Deutsche Welle reports citing Die Welt.

On December 15, the European Commission is expected to submit a report with a positive assessment of a visa loiberalization action plan by Kyiv and Tbilisi, which will serve as a prerequisite for the approval of visa-free regime for Georgia and Ukraine by the EU member states.

At the same time it is noted that Kyiv has to improve performance in some areas, in particular, fighting corruption, until the spring of 2016.

The lifting of visa regime for Georgian and Ukrainian citizens will allow staying in the EU for three months during a six month period, while employment in one of the EU countries will be prohibited.
