Lubomir Rehak: We cannot say there were no obstacles for the European March

“Belarusians want to live in Europe and share the European values, which the European March is indicative of,” Charge d’Affaires of Slovakia Lubomir Rehak commented on the Minsk events to BelaPAN. According to the diplomat, with this action the Belarusian society expressed support for the initiative of the Belarusian government to cooperate with Europe. “We cannot say there were no obstacles for the European March. We have witnessed intimidation, arrests, and detentions for spreading information on the European March,” L.Rehak emphasized.

L.Rehak pointed to “very curious” slogans that appeared during the meeting near the Academy of Sciences: “It’s easier to run on the roof than to get a European visa proof”, “No visa to Europe? What a disgrace!”, “Europe, let’s be friends!”. “The transparencies were taken out from boots of the vehicles parked in the area where only state media and tinted windshield cars are allowed to park,” L.Rehak said.

Besides the Slovakian diplomat, Ambassadors of the USA, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Czech, Sweden, France, and Germany observed the European March.
