Karen Stewart: US welcome the initiative of Belarusians in support of free Belarus

“The USA welcome the initiative of Belarusian citizens to support free and democratic Belarus”, - the US Ambassador in Belarus declared on the European March in Minsk. “We were concerned with the arrests of the organizers on the march’s eve, - K. Stewart said. – We think it is very important for people to have an opportunity to express their opinions free”.
The Ambassador noted that in comparison with previous oppositional actions she saw this year today more people have come. “I think, the more Belarusians receive an opportunity to hear different opinions and express their own ones, the more successful will be Belarusian way to the democratic values”, - Karen Stewart said.
The American diplomat also stressed that the USA continue to support the democracy in Belarus.
