Milinkevich on Summit of European Heads of State and Government

Today the Movement “For Freedom” leader Aliaksandr Milinkevich is taking part in European People’s Party Summit, represented by heads of states and governments of the EU. The summit is to take place in Lisbon (Portugal) under the leadership of the EPP President Wilfried Martens.

The heads of states and governments of the EU and the neighbouring countries will meet I Lisbon with the European Commission President Manuel Barroso and the European Parliament President Hans-Gert Pöttering for the discussion of new EU agreement.

Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, Prime Minister of the Netherlands Jan Peter Balkenende, Prime Minister of Croatia Ivo Sanader, Prime Minister of Greece Kostas Karamanlis, Prime Minister of Latvia Aigars Kalvītis and others are to participate in the Forum.

The countries that are not the EU members will be represented on the Summit by President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko, President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili, Prime Minister of Croatia Ivo Sanader, Prime Minister of Albania Sali Berisha.

Ukrainian politician Yulia Timoshenko and PACE President René van der Linden are on the invitation list, too.
